She Ain't Gonna Have It!

Capri is smack-dab in the middle of her standing heat and is telling us NO WAY to breeding. The plan was to breed her to Ace for a litter of holiday puppies. We have brought the two together every other day for the past week and she growls him away. I thought maybe is was him? Nope, tried with Buddy and we got the same result. The words of one of the oldest Chihuahua breeders I know came to mind. She has been breeding for yeeeaaars and often times the advice given didn't make sense at the time - But came flooding back when the situation arose. THIS was one of those times!

She told me that females KNOW - They just know! When they are ready, when they aren't and they will tell YOU what's gonna happen. Colada isn't ready and it ain't gonna happen!
